With the men's Carhartt Met Guard work hiker, you get a safety toe boot with the added protection of a metatarsal guard. An internal XRD performance material met guard is lightweight and flexible, making it very comfortable. Meeting ASTM requirements, this met guard immediately hardens upon impact, helping to protect the tops of feet. A composite safety toe also meets ASTM standards and this boot is electrical hazard-resisting.

This 6-inch brown leather safety hiker has the comfort features you need in a work boot. It is waterproof and cushions in all the right places. A Storm Defender waterproof membrane, in combination with a Fastdry lining, makes the interior of the boot both breathable and dry. And this boot has a very comfortable with a removable foam cushion insole. A barrier of padding on the tongue and collar helps to protect sensitive tendons and ankles from abrasion and strain.

Exterior features contribute to the safety and durability of these work hikers. Reflective piping outlines the highly abrasion-resistant heel panel, helping others to see you in low light conditions. The same abrasion-resistant material caps the toe of these boots, helping to extending the wear time of these hikers. A Carhartt rubber Rugged Flex outsole provides traction and is abrasion- and slip-resisting.

  • Protective Toe
    Impact testing determines the amount of protection to the toe under various foot pounds of force. Compression testing determines the amount of static pressure a steel/composite toe cap can withstand. Our boots are I75/C75
    Electrical Hazard
    Footwear is built with nail-free construction to help insulate you from the ground to slow down conduction, but is not intended to be primary protection against electric shock. Leather footwear must be dry. Our electrical hazard boots meet and exceed ASTM electrical hazard standards.
    Metatarsal Guard
    Footwear offering metatarsal protection is designed to prevent or reduce injuries when the toe and metatarsal areas of the foot are exposed to "drop" hazards. Metatarsal protection safety shoes may be constructed with either internal or external metatarsal guards.
