The Governor has a composite toe. A composite toe is lighter than steel, yet fully meets the ASTM standard for protective toe and CSA requirements for impact and compression resistance. This shoe also meets the ASTM standard for electrical hazard. So what does "electrical hazard" mean? Electrical hazard shoes are a secondary source of protection in an electrical hazard environment. They are designed to impede the flow of electricity through the shoe and to ground, reducing the possibility of electrocution.
