Q: Do you charge sales tax?
A: We value our customers at Rocky Brands and we make every effort to calculate sales taxes on your internet purchases correctly. Your purchase is not exempt merely because it is made over the Internet or by other remote means. We calculate and collect sales taxes, based upon rates obtained from our third party sales tax rate provider, and applicable to your purchases ship-to address; in states which we have a physical presence. If you feel that we have calculated the sales taxes on your order incorrectly, please contact our customer service department so that we may bill you accordingly.
Q: I received a packing list with my shoe order. Where is my invoice number?
A: Your invoice number, or pick number ,starts with an “L” and is followed by a 6 digit number.
Q: I ordered a pair of boots online. The next day I rec’d an email from your Customer Service Dept stating the boots were discontinued. Although they did offer several suggestions for substitution, why were these on your website to begin with?
A: From time to time, we discontinue product but still have several sizes in that particular style to sell through. Because the sizes sell out so quickly, it is possible we sell out of a size before we can take it off our website.
Q: Are the Protective Toe footwear styles that you offer compliant with ANSI Z41 Protective Toe footwear standards?
A: The ANSI Z41standards have actually been withdrawn and have been replaced by the new ASTM 42413-05 standards that we must comply with today. All of our protective toe footwear meets these new ASTM 42413-05 standards for impact and compresion. You can see further information regarding the ASTM 42413-05 standards in our catalog or on our web.
Q: Are your composite toe footwear styles tested to the same impact and compression standards as your steel toe footwear styles?
A: The answer is definitely yes. Any protective toe styles we sell regardless of the protective toe cap material must meet the same ASTM F2413-05 Impact & Compression test requirements. It does not matter whether the toe cap material is steel, composite, &/or any other material; our protective toe shoes must meet the same toe protection requirements. For further information regarding steel toe and composite toe differences and benefits read this article Steel Toe vs. Composite Toe.
Q: What protective toe styles do you offer that are a 3E width or wider?
A: While they are not marked as 3E’s, my first suggestions is our 6” TS-100 steel toe stock # 5160 and TS-100 steel toe oxford stock # 5153 in their Xtra-Wide widths. Any shoes made with our TS-100 toe cap tend to fit roomy because it is a very spacious toe cap. This large toe cap makes the whole shoe to fit roomier. However, if you insist on using a protective toe product that is actually marked as a 3E, I would suggest our Thorogood 6” steel toe stock # 8044203 or 8”steel toe stock # 8044204. If you are looking for any additional information on the two styles mentioned (TS-100 stock #’s 5160 and 5163), please reference this article.
Q: What do we offer in a men's traditional dress shoe style that is also steel toe?
A: A fantastic style that fits the above criteria is the Rockport black steel toe dress wing tip stock #RK6741. While the Rockport #RK6741 is still the best option, please check out some other Rockport styles that are slightly more casual but still may fit your needs.
Q: What do you offer that is a protective toe style in a size 18?
A: Please check out our Thorogood 6 inch and 8 inch boots style #8044203 and #8044204. These are offered in Medium (D) width as well as 3E width. However, if a metatarsal guard is needed in addition to the protective toe feature, please check out the Work One 6 inch metatarsal guard style #1408.
Q: What protective toe sport/casual style options might be available in a size 17?
A: Nautilus provides some products that are often available in a size 17. Please look into any of the below styles:
Q: What style do you recommend that is waterproof, has a steel toe construction and will accommodate a large foot?
A: The Rocky Mobilite stock #6114 is one of our most popular styles and it also proves to be very helpful in this situation because it has all the attributes you are looking for! This waterproof style is available up to a size 16 medium. The Rocky #6114 fits much roomier than a standard Medium width because it features an extra spacious Mobilite steel toe cap.
Q: What do we have to offer in a Casual/Dress style in an Xtra-Wide width?
A: We are fortunate to have two Rockport styles in stock #’s RK6761 and RK6762 (black and brown) on our Lehigh Outfitters web site. These styles are not only good for the worker seeking toe protection in a Casual/Dress style, but also have the added feature of being Static Dissipative in case it may be desired for those involved in electronic component assembly.
Q: I am seeking footwear in a Width such as a D or a 3E but do not see many styles whose widths are marked along those lines. What should I do?
A: Through the years shoes started to be offered simply in Medium & Wide. A shoe marked such as EEE does not mean you will be getting the widest shoe just because it is marked that way. For example the TS-100 style in an Xtra-Wide width such as Lehigh 5160 or 5153 is likely to fit much roomier than a EEE width in a conventional style. While all shoes can fit differently because of different manufacturers please note the following general rule of thumb in comparing footwear Width information:
- D or E – generally = Medium
- 2E or 3E – generally = Wide
- 4E+ - generally = Xtra-Wide
- C or lower – generally = Narrow
Q: What is our largest size metatarsal option?
A: Timberland stock # 99524 is available for possible web purchase up to size 18 Wide. This is an 8 “ boot and is made with a high heat resistant construction
Q: What is a large size work shoe option?
A: The Timberland # 26063 is available for possible web purchase up to size 17 Medium, Wide, or Xtra-Wide
Q: What styles do you have that are LoCut and metatarsal?
A: Take a look at the Florsheim men’s and women’s internal metatarsal oxford styles stock #’s FE2440 & FE244.
Q: Do you have any easy on – easy off metatarsal styles?
A: Yes, please view the Florsheim stock # FE690.
Q: What do you offer in place of the Converse Black Composite Toe SD HiTop Athletic stock # 4406?
A: We have a very good alternative option on the web at this point in Converse stock #C4605.
The Converse MidHi Athletic C4605 has many of the same key features as the 4406 as it:
- Black
- Has a Composite Toe Cap
- Is totally Non-metallic
- Is Static Dissipative
Q: What style can we offer if seeking a traditional hard sole hiking boot?
A: Georgia Boot Steel Toe Waterproof Hiker stock # G6613 is tough throughout highlighted by features such as it highly abrasion resistant tough hard rubber Vibram outsole. You could also look at the Georgia Boot G6513 which is its soft (non-protective) toe running mate for possible consideration.
Q: Does your Rocky Internal Metatarsal Guard Waterproof Wellington boot stock # R6468 really have an internal metatarsal guard inside of it?
A: Yes, it does. We have encountered customers who find it hard to believe that guards have actually been incorporated in these boots because they feel such springy cushioning when they push down on the guard. The metatarsal guard in the R6468 is a d3o Advanced Metguard that uses specially engineered materials made with intelligent molecules that flow as you move, but on shock lock together to absorb the impact energy.
Q: What might you have to offer in protective toe footwear styles with no leather?
A: We have 4 Nautilus Composite Toe LoCut Athletic styles that have no leather in their make-up. Please check out the men’s stock #’s N1710 & N1711 as well as the women’s stock #’s N1750 & N1751
Q: What might you have to offer in a wider fitting composite toe footwear style?
A: While we may not necessarily offer any composite toe styles that are marked as Xtra-Wide, 3E, or anything else along those lines; there is a Rockport RK6640 style whose Wide width inventory would tend to fit as an Extra Wide or 3E because of its using an Extra Wide composite toe cap.
Q: What is an alternative to the discontinued Lehigh black basic steel toe logger boot stock #5964?
A: The Lehigh stock # 5964 was a good basic logger without all of the extras. We currently have a Built stock #BG8310 basic steel toe logger boot available on our Lehigh Outfitters web site that we believe you will find very comparable and a great option!
Q: What does Lehigh Outfitters have to offer on the web in terms of full fitting steel toe work shoe with heat and chip resistant outsoles?
A: While you may not realize it, what Georgia may call its oblique toe or Chieftain toe used in its Chieftain Series of styles has the same toe shape and room as our Lehigh TS-100. A wide width of the Chieftain should fit at least as roomy as a typical 3E width shoe if not roomier. The Chieftain Series includes some steel toe 6” & 8” work shoe versions among them and all utilize a rugged heat and chip resistant Vibram rubber outsole.
Q: What does Lehigh Outfitters have to offer on our web site in terms of USA made products?
A: The first part of my answer is to suggest you type “Made in the USA” in the Search Box of our web site home page. This should provide a good grouping of various USA made products. However, we recently had 4 Thorogood additions to this web offering that I would want to be sure to highlight to your attention as follows:
Q: What are some protective toe waterproof insulated boot options you suggest?
A: We have a couple of recent Rocky GritArmor composite toe waterproof insulated boot additions with our 8” and 6” stock #’s respectively being R6358 and R6354 . These boots are made with Rocky Waterproof construction to help keep your feet dry and 400 grams of Thinsulate ultra insulation to help keep your feet warm. Plus they have the additional features of a non-metallic composite toe cap as well as molded rubber shells serving the roles of toe and heel guards.
