I was recently talking with some of my cohorts here in Lehigh Outfitters regarding our favorite movies.  It is a pretty safe bet that I will say the movie Rudy before anything else comes to my mind and I did.  I love the movie Rudy as it tells the story of a person who supposedly did not have the brains to go to Notre Dame as a student and was even further away from having the physical prowess to possibly make its football team.  However, somehow he ended up doing both. 

Rudy's path was far from easy.  He appeared that he may have been on the verge of quitting as a student when he just about ran out of time to be eligible to transfer to Notre Dame, but his last chance came through.  If had not hung in until his last chance for acceptance as a student (after failing to be accepted 3 other times), he could have completely missed out on the experience. However, going to Notre Dame was not all Rudy wanted.  He wanted to be on the football team.  While it was great that he made the team, his next dream was to be in uniform for one game.  He reportedly attended every practice for his two years there, but had never been able to dress for a game and his name did not make the list of players to suit up for his last game.  It was his very last practice and he had decided to quit. 

Thanks to some very good friends and teammates, he was convinced that the guy who had never quit before should not quit now and he did show up for the last practice. After practice multiple star athletes offered their jerseys to their coach to say they would be willing to sit out the game so Rudy could be in uniform instead. The player who lacked the smarts, size, and strength (but had a huge heart) was to get his chance.  At this point, you'll have to watch the movie to see how it ends.
