Trust the Mob with These Boot Choices

While I do not know about you, I can be a big fan of game shows and spend some of my free time checking out the Game Show Network. One of my current favorite Game Shows is 1 vs 100.  For those of you that may not be familiar with it, there is 1 contestant competing against a Mob of 100 in answering questions to see if he/she or they ultimately win the prize money.  One of the aspects that I find interesting is there can be times when the contestant has to Ask, Poll, or Trust the Mob for the answer needed for he/she to continue in the game.

While our company has chosen to have me fill this Ask an Expert role, I receive some questions that I am much better equipped to answer than others.  While my background is in footwear, my industrial footwear knowledge is much greater than either my outdoor footwear or western footwear knowledge.  It is for that reason, I chose to look elsewhere when I received the following correspondence from Andy that had to do with both hunting and horseback riding. It was time for me to go the Lehigh Outfitters mob as we have strong collective experience in hunting footwear with our Rocky Outdoor line and western footwear with our Rocky Western as well as Durango Boot lines.

There are many good candidates to help me that I could ask, poll, &/or trust, I chose to go to Joe Hanning.  Joe is not only our Director of Consumer Sales, he has strong backgrounds in both footwear categories.  Plus, Joe happens to be my boss as well as the person who helps spruce up each blog I write to help them look better for you.

As you scroll down, you can see Joe’s input pertaining to Andy’s question.  We appreciate your questions and encourage you to keep them coming.  We will continue to utilize our various areas of knowledge throughout the company to provide the best input we can regarding the information you are seeking.  Thank you for your interest in our products.

Andy's Question:

I will be hunting in Wyoming in cold weather and on horseback. I need a warm boot that I can ride in. Any suggestions?

Joe's Response:

The tough factor here is that Andy is on horseback, and a lot of boots won’t fit all that great in stirrups.  The amount of insulation is also a determining factor. Early season in the Rocky Mountains could actually bring snow and severe cold or sunny and 70 degree temps.

The following boots are true hunting boots that may work well. They may not be an absolutely perfect fit for a stirrup, but they do have a defined heel and will accommodate a stirrup better than a lot of our traditional styles.
