Being a person who has spent most of my working life involved in the development and functionality aspects of footwear, our Marketing people have taken on the challenge of trying to make me into a marketer. They throw these different terminologies my way that I often times do not understand (such as a White Paper – Isn’t most all paper white unless it is a special colored version?). Believe it or not, the article that I am to put together here is to be a White Paper and it is to be my first shot at trying one. We will see how I do from here. The question behind this paper is the age old question . . . Who makes the best work boots? As a person who has spent my whole working career associated with Lehigh Safety Shoes, it would be extremely difficult for me to not think of it here. One product that Lehigh introduced back in the 1970’s that is still strong today is our TS-100 toe cap. Its extra roomy shape is ideal for the person who needs &/or wants more toe room than found in most other steel toe caps. While this TS-100 toe cap has been a constant within Lehigh’s line through these years, the products made with it have continually improved including Static Dissipative footwear for the person desiring extra fitting room. Georgia Boot has recently generated an outstanding line of FLXPoint products that are ideal for people spending long hours on their feet. These boots have lightweight comfortable features including their polyurethane midsole that is cored out so an extra thick polyurethane Comfort Core insole can fit inside of it. They are very flexible and made for the person who has much walking &/or standing on the job. Rocky Brands has been strong in the areas of outdoor and occupational footwear including work, western, duty, and hiking boots. One area of particular strength is in Rocky’s duty footwear where some Protective Toe styles such as our R6004 are made with non-metallic toe caps and even totally non-metallic constructions to aid our customers who require ASTM F2413-05 compliant toe protection and also have to pass through metal detectors. Many Michelin styles are made with its orthotic chassis insole that not only has excellent polyurethane cushion insole material in it, but also has a rigid TPU (thermoplastic urethane) base that is engineered and geared for the wearer needing or desiring arch support. Timberland PRO provides a package of Titan footwear that has some of the lightest weight protective toe footwear to be found. If lightweight is the key feature your are seeking, you would likely want to check out these Timberland PRO Titan products. Both Nautilus and Converse provide a wide variety of protective toe athletic footwear styles. There are steel toe versions, composite toe versions, Electrical Hazard versions, and Static Dissipative versions. Different jobs require different footwear. Different people require &/or desire different footwear. Please look through the various brands we have to offer and see if you can find what you are seeking. Most of all, please contact us if you need help finding what would be the best boots for you.
