Lehigh Safety Shoes: 8” Rocky Waterproof Insulated Composite Toe Work Boot 5258 Lehigh Safety Shoe Co. has been providing protective toe safety shoes since the early 1920’s initially under the name of Lehigh Rubber and Leather Company. There have been many upgrades in technology over time allowing for better Lehigh products. One of the most significant changes for Lehigh through the years has been its being acquired by Rocky Brands in 2005. This has helped open the door to some excellent production additions to the Lehigh line including 8” Rocky Waterproof Composite Toe Work Boot stock # 5258. One of the key features of Rocky stock # 5258 is its non-metallic composite toe cap. The combination of this toe cap along with the other features of 5258 allows this style to meet the highest ASTM F2413-05 Protective Toe footwear standards for Impact & Compression resistance. The unique combination of this toe cap’s protective properties along with it being of a non-metallic material, make it ideal for areas requiring protective toe safety shoes that may have to pass through metal detectors during work. It should be noted that we have made 5258 with totally non-metallic components to aid in this regard. This is well suited for various transportation and prison oriented work areas. An additional feature of the 5258 Work Boot is its Rocky Waterproof construction. It combines a waterproof inner layer with the upper providing a barrier that helps keep water out and feet dry. In addition to meeting the highest ASTM F2413-05 Impact & Compression standards, Rocky stock # 5258 also complies with its Electrical Hazard standards. This type of work boot is made with insulating bottoms providing secondary electrical hazard protection to those areas dealing with open circuits under dry conditions, but also can be worn in work areas requiring only basic protective toe work boots.
